The Hospitals & Institutions subcommittee of Southwest Atlanta Area of Narcotics Anonymous is hosting a learning day 11/6/2022 from 12-3pm at 36 Salbide Avenue Newnan. All members who are interested in learning more about this crucial part of our fellowship are welcome to attend. Learn about the current H&I commitments in the Southwest Atlanta Area, when they meet and where they are located. Share experience with other members about taking meetings in to hospitals, jails, and institutions.
Anyone interested in doing service work in jails and institutions where addicts are not able to take themselves to an outside meeting is encouraged to attend. Topics discussed will include the general structure of an H&I meeting, how they may differ from regular NA meetings, past experiences with taking meetings into institutions, meeting topics, and general review of the NAWS H&I Handbook.
There is no clean time requirement to attend and get involved.
Service opportunities include attending the area subcommittee meeting, serving as a panel leader who is responsible for the commitment, attending presentations to new locations to discuss what Narcotics Anonymous is and share recovery, compiling and distributing literature, or attending a panel commitment as a speaker.
